Fabian Lasarzik

Fabian Lasarzik was born in 1970, studied communication science and arts and worked as a journalist and arts promoter. He brought electronic dance music events to the Ruhr Area in the early 90s.

He has worked as a curator and arts manager for 12 years and became the head of the department for Culture & Arts at the Unesco World Heritage Site Zollverein and is Artistic Director since 2012 at Stiftung Zollverein.

Stiftung Zollverein

In recent years the public and nonprofit Zollverein Foundation has developed the Zollverein World Heritage Site into a first-class venue and a successful and prominent cultural and business centre. Particularly owing to the major European Capital of Culture RUHR 2010 event, the Zollverein has become nationally and internationally renowned as a centre of excellence for industrial culture, design and a wide range of cultural activities. The Zollverein has thus become a symbol of the cultural and structural change of the Ruhr area. In addition to its responsibility for the maintenance of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site as a monument of industrial modernity and the running of an international visitors’ centre, the Zollverein also conceives and holds its own concerts, music festivals and exhibitions, as well as numerous collaborations.
